Well, that could be anywhere in the CIS actually...but I have vague memories of the post office in the background...that was in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Am I correct?

ReplyDeleteYes, this is Chernivtsi! You have a very good memory for post offices... Actually, there are clues in the picture that tell you exactly what country this is, firstly that the sign for the post office says 'Poshta' (Ukrainian) and not 'Pochta' (Russian). 'Poshta' also means post office in some other Slavic languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet (Serbian and Bulgarian), but the Soviet-era tank markings are clearly from a CIS state. There is also a Ukrainian flag visible under the word 'Poshta' if you click on the photo enough to enlarge it.
Congrats though, that was a tough photo to guess!
