The days will be very short, it will be dark by 5pm in the evening. Many attractions in the countryside and small towns will be closed during the winter, so castles, museums, etc. will not be open. The Prague Christmas markets will be a popular attraction, and other cities in the country like Brno, Plzeň, Olomouc, etc. will have their own smaller Christmas markets in central squares. Given how cold it will be I'd spend more than 3 or 4 days in Prague, you'll want to explore more indoor attractions. Kutná Hora is worth a visit in the winter, as is Karlovy Vary (and nearby Loket), Plzeň, Olomouc, Brno, Telč and Tábor. Český Krumlov is a busy tourist destination all year-round, and you might stay there for a few nights to enjoy the atmosphere. That's a start of an itinerary at least, just keep in mind how cold it will be for sightseeing (probably below O celsius), and how grey the countryside will look.Goulash Trainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469376520091036889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5379161761480114626.post-61349541715955610982016-11-06T02:23:32.844-05:002016-11-06T02:23:32.844-05:00Hi Wildroo: We plan to visit CZ from 15th Dec to 3...Hi Wildroo: We plan to visit CZ from 15th Dec to 30th Dec. We intend to make Prague the base and travel around by car. Considering the weather I am assuming hiking and trekking would be out of the agenda. We are happy to make day trips in and out of prague.... Kutná Hora,Lidice, Pilsner we want to visit.... can you help us with putting an itinerary which will give us 3-4 whole days in Prague and rest being utilised for day trips so that we can get a good exposure of the country's heritage, culture, history and food? Would be grateful !!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5379161761480114626.post-26397598222184767312013-08-31T10:37:12.967-04:002013-08-31T10:37:12.967-04:00Wildroo would you care to write for a travel magaz...Wildroo would you care to write for a travel magazine? Slavonice and Štramberk are my two favourite small towns in the country. Happy travels as you work your way through the list!Goulash Trainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07469376520091036889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5379161761480114626.post-22050416613663611442013-07-11T18:29:47.056-04:002013-07-11T18:29:47.056-04:00This is an incredible, exhaustive list!
